Need a place to study? With more students on campus study space can be hard to come by. Look no further than the University Union for some extra space this fall.

Starting Friday, Sept. 29, a temporary study space will be available for all students in the former Cal Poly Rose Float office next to the ASI Craft Center on the first floor of the UU. The study space will be open through fall quarter until construction begins on the Cross Cultural Centers’ new MultiCultural Center. The University Union Advisory Board (UUAB) collaborated with the Cross Cultural Centers to open the temporary study space.

“This space will give students an additional area to work in. It’s in a convenient location that provides freshmen on campus with a place to study when their dorm rooms are a little too loud,” UUAB Chair Kaelan Sobouti said.

The space will be open during regular UU operating hours. Cross Cultural Centers will utilize the space on Mondays and Thursdays from 4:30 to 7:30 p.m. to facilitate trainings. For the entirety of “dead week,” the area will only be utilized as a study space.

Stay tuned for more information on the construction start date and renovation plans for the new MultiCultural Center!
